About/C.V.

Lenkyn (b. 1981, Vancouver, Canada) makes drawings, paintings and media art. His distinctive style brings together elements of metaphysical art and semiotics to create highly-detailed works that are both beautiful and threatening. By combining intersected planes with contrasting biological references, his works challenge interpretation and objectify [his] emotions. One part acerbic existential commentary, another part pleasing aesthetic, the pieces represent an emotional state held timeless in an orientation of sharp edges, stark contrasts, simulated textures, and ultimate contradictions. As well as creating commissions for a range of local clients, Lenkyn also maintains a senior visual design position and finds time to work on various musical projects.
